Brian Cambra, EdD
Lecturer in Child and Family Studies
Brian Cambra serves as Lecturer in Child and Family Studies. Dr. Cambra earned a BS degree in Child and Family Development from San Diego State University and several graduate degrees from universities in the U.S. and Europe, including a Master of Social Science in Child Studies from Linköping University (Sweden), a PgDip in Applied Psychology from Robert Gordon University (United Kingdom), and a doctorate degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from Liberty University (USA). Dr. Cambra worked for over 24 years in various overseas contexts in Romania, Italy, and the United Kingdom. Much of his work has focused on offering care to children and families impacted by trauma associated with institutionalization and forced migration. His recent publication was presented at the Conference of the Nordic Network for Theology in Practice, University of Helsinki. Currently, he is working with Christian organizations to develop post-trauma care models to help the world’s most vulnerable populations. Before coming to Baylor, Dr. Cambra held faculty appointments at various U.S. and international institutions, including the University of Maryland Europe Campus and Anglia Ruskin University in the United Kingdom.
