Lori Speaker serves as a Lab Technician for Nutrition Sciences and joined Baylor in 2023. Lori earned her bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1994. She spent 10 years of her chemistry career in the forensic sciences field with a focus on toxicology and drug analysis. During part of those years, Lori served as President for the Southwestern Association of Toxicologists, testified as an expert witness in criminal and civil cases, and served on advisory boards for the State of Texas in the field of toxicology. Lori also has experience in clinical toxicology, emergency management, and environmental science.
Lori was blessed with her daughter in 2005 and soon began a new career as an educator. She has taught math, science, Spanish, and coached tennis during her 12 years as a teacher in the Waco area.
