Mickey Langlais, PhD, CFLE
Assistant Professor of Child and Family Studies
Dr. Mickey Langlais serves as an Assistant Professor in Child and Family Studies. Dr. Langlais earned a B.S. with Honors from the University of Tennessee - Knoxville in Psychology and Classical Civilizations. He also earned his MS and PhD in Human Development and Family Science from the University of Texas – Austin. Dr. Langlais has taught in higher education for over a decade. His research focuses on two domains: 1) infant and child development, particularly the role of technology for development and parent-child relationships and 2) romantic relationships, particularly how relationships impact children’s development such as dating after divorce, and how technology contributes to romantic relationship formation. He is a member of the National Council on Family Relations (NCFR) and the International Association for Relationship Research (IARR).
