What does the Peer Nutrition Advisement Program Cost?
The PNA program is FREE for all registered students, faculty or staff (up to 3 sessions).
Who can sign up?
Sessions are open to any Baylor University student, faculty, or staff member.
Who will benefit from sessions with a Peer Nutrition Advisor?
Anyone curious/concerned about their personal nutrition status/circumstances will benefit from meeting with a Peer Nutrition Advisor. Meeting with your advisor can answer questions such as:
- How do I lose weight? How do I gain weight?
- How to I properly fuel myself for activity and exercise?
- How can I improve my diet?
Who are the Advisors?
The students serving as Peer Nutrition Advisors are Nutrition Sciences majors in the Pre-Dietetic concentration. They are juniors and seniors who have taken a variety of nutrition courses including Nutrition Education and Counseling and meet weekly with a Registered Dietitian mentor who guides and directs them as they meet with clients.
*Limitations:
The Peer Nutrition Advisement Program cannot provide Medical Nutrition Therapy (a treatment that uses nutrition education and counseling to help manage or prevent health conditions). This can only be provided by a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. Baylor University's Counseling Center offers Medical Nutrition Services for students. Learn more here.
