Hillary Burgess

Lecturer

Hillary Burgess has been an adjunct in the Interior Design department since 2017. She graduated from Baylor in 2009 with a BSFCS in Interior Design, and from Ball State University in 2022 with a Master of Science in Interior Design and a Graduate Certificate in Sustainability. Hillary’s Master’s thesis, Developing a Framework for Analyzing the Sustainability of Furniture, discovered key focus areas to help interior designers avoid greenwashing tactics and complete a thorough analysis of the sustainability of the furniture they select.

Hillary is a NCIDQ licensed interior designer with a decade of experience designing custom interior elements for high-end and boutique grocery stores, including Whole Foods Market locations nationwide.

Hillary lives in Austin, Texas, with her husband and two daughters, ages 8 and 2.
