Hillary Burgess, NCIDQ

Hillary Burgess has been a full-time lecturer in Interior Design since 2023, following her role as an adjunct instructor beginning in 2017. She graduated from Baylor University in 2009 with a  Bachelor of Science in Interior Design, and completed a Master of Science in Interior Design, along with a Graduate Certificate in Sustainability, from Ball State University in 2022. Her master’s thesis, Developing a Framework for Analyzing the Sustainability of Furniture, discovered key focus areas to help interior designers avoid greenwashing tactics and conduct thorough sustainability assessments of the furniture they specify.

In addition to her years of experience teaching studios and lecture courses across all undergraduate levels, Hillary has served as a faculty liaison in partnership with Baylor Missions for the vocational mission project in Barcenas, Guatemala. 

Hillary is a NCIDQ-certified interior designer and has over a decade of professional experience designing custom interior millwork and environments for high-end and boutique grocery stores, including Whole Foods Market locations across the country.

Hillary lives in Waco, Texas, with her husband and two daughters.
