Admissions Criteria
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- BA or BS in Architecture or Architectural Studies, OR
- BS in Interior Design from a CIDA-accredited program
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (recommended)
- GRE is NOT required
Application Requirements
- Completed application
- Official transcripts
- Resume or curriculum vitae, which include (but are not limited to):
- Education
- Professional experience
- Research, leadership, or volunteer experience
- Three reference letters, including at least two academic references
- Personal essay, answering, "Why do you want to pursue studies in architecture at Baylor?" (max. 1000 words)
- Portfolio
- Specifications
- A single PDF with max. 30 pages including the cover page, table of contents, and end page
- 30 MB max
- 8.5" x 11" page size, landscape (horizontal) orientation. (NOTE: It is unlikely that the committee will view the portfolio as spreads. If you wish certain pieces of content to be viewed at the same time, we suggest putting that content on the same page, which would count as one page.)
- Max resolution: 150 dpi for all images or entire PDF; RGB is the recommended format for color management on computer monitors. When importing line drawings into PDF format, please check that line weights are properly reproduced or adjusted.
- No hyperlinks or videos.
- Minimize descriptive text
- Captions should include:
- Project Year
- Course title, or note professional, academic, or individual work
- Group projects and projects completed in collaborative settings should be clearly identified as such, indicating the degree and extent of your own involvement
- The portfolio should demonstrate aptitude in these categories, including but not limited to:
- Site analysis
- Clear concept design
- Design development from concept to final design
- Ability to visually communicate final design via plan, section, elevational drawings, and models
- A combination of both hand and digital means of visual representation
- Specifications
